Owner and CEO
James Farese is from the south Florida area and attended Florida Atlantic University. He has a business background and has extensive experience in various positions in the substance abuse and mental health rehabilitation industry. His draw to the field is motivated by watching family members and friends ongoing struggle with addiction. James has a true passion for helping people get clean and sober and also has experience volunteering with juvenile populations afflicted by genetic development disorders.

Sauda Peck-Harris, LHMC, MFT, Qualified Supervisor
Clinical and Compliance Director
Sauda Harris started here career with Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) which licenses mental health and substance abuse treatment programs in Florida. She then moved to the provider side as a clinical director and has successfully overseen the clinical operations for a treatment centers in the south Florida area. Her outgoing and genuinely caring personalty shines through to both clients and colleagues as she provides therapy, supervision and training.

Dr. Jaqueline Pevy, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Pevny is from New York and graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine with honors. She did her psychiatric residency and fellowship at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. She was then on the faculty at Mount Sinai until moving to Florida in 2003. She has extensive experience in all aspects of adult psychiatry, specifically in addiction psychiatry. Dr. Pevny is double board certified in adult and geriatric psychiatry and is pending her addiction board. She practices with compassion, vast knowledge and empathy, and treats every patient with dignity and respect.

Tyesha Bowen is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner here at Your Life Recovery.  She attended Nova Southeastern University where she received a bachelor's of Science.  Tyesha  then attended the University of Miami for her ARNP education.  She is currently working on her Doctorates which will be completed in December.

Melanie Heraldson
Therapist
Melanie Haraldson is a 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, specializing in yoga for recovery. Originally from Canada, Melanie is a resilient advocate for those suffering from addiction, as she grew up with addiction in her family. After losing her beloved father to suicide in 2013, she began exploring the healing practice of yoga. During her early practice, she experienced an emotional breakthrough, which eventually led her to pursue what would become her life’s work. Upon completing her yoga teacher training, she went on to become a Yoga of 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR) trained teacher, and now teaches exclusively in treatment centers and also leads monthly donation classes in the community.
Melanie is also a Certified Health + Functional Nutrition Coach. Her purpose is to inspire clients to take charge of their own health, to better understand exactly what their bodies are communicating to them by way of signs and symptoms and to understand that wellness relies within themselves.

Tara Krok was born and raised in Palm Beach County, Florida. She attended Palm Beach Lakes High School and graduated from Palm Beach State College. Tara has been working in the recovery field for over three years now and has developed a strong passion for helping those dealing with addiction.

Alexandria Agostinelli

Alexandria Agostinelli was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  She attended Florida State University recieving a Bachelors of Science in Sociology.  Her passion is in helping individuals and their families struggling with addiction and the treatment planning process.  As a case manager Alexandria provides direct service to each client, enhancing their transition into the community setting by linking to necessary services and monitoring those services.

Nakisha Ealey was born in West Palm Beach, Florida. She graduated from Summit Institute in 2002 earning her certification as a Medical Assistant . Nakisha has over 15  years of experience in the medical field and 4 years of experience in substance abuse rehabilitation. Nakisha enjoys interacting with clients and encouraging them through their journey of recovery.

Island Valceus was born and raised in Boynton Beach, Florida.  She is a graduate from Palm Beach State University with a degree in Patient Care Assistance.  Island is currently pursuing a Human Service Degree in Addiction at Palm Beach State.  She holds 5 years of administration skills with 3 years of behavioral health technician experience.  Island has close friends and family that has battled with addiction, including herself.  With her family church and prayer she has been sober since 2006.

Evelyn De La Cruz was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but has been a South Florida Resident all her life .   She graduated as a Medical Assitant in 2011 . Emelyn has over 5 years of experience in the medical field and is now working as a Behavioral Tech . She has witnessed first hand what addiction can do to our loved ones. Emelyn is happy to be working with a group of compassionate people to help our loved ones get back on track!

Leroy Bess
Residential Behavioral Health Technician
Leroy Bess was born and raised in Baltimore, MD where his passion for life blossomed at an early age. Through young adulthood, he spiraled into the depths of his addiction and alcoholism. Leroy has a family member who persuaded him that recovery was possible in South Florida. He listened to the suggestions of others in his early days of sobriety. Leroy has been working in the field of addiction as a client service liaison for the past five years. He provides one on one client care, facilitates group therapy, and oversees the property operations. In his spare time he speaks at local schools, mentoring students on the dangers of violence and drug addiction through sharing his own experience. None of this would have been possible without his willingness to change and the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Leroy supports his loved ones and his passion for helping others is evident in his actions. Leroy is a Certified Behavioral Health Technician, certified in CPR, First Aid, and HIV Prevention.

Alicia Wells was born in Florida and has spent most of my life here. She graduated from Santaluces High School in 1996. She is in the process of completing her CRRA. She has worked in substance abuse treatment for 9 years, talking with individuals about the importance of recovery and their sobriety. She values helping them with everyday living skills and being a direct contact to their needs. Alicia is CPR and DCF training certified. She was first introduced to what addiction is in the summer of 1992 when her mother, aunt and four uncle's admitted they had drug and alcohol issues. This is when becoming involved with addiction became apart of her life. She is passionate about helping individuals with addiction and fighting this disease to see them overcome an addiction they once believed was impossible to beat.

Fritz Lauriston was born in south Florida. Fritz graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy and Theology from Quincy University.  Fritz is also a Certified Recovery Residence Administrator. Fritz has worked in the recovery industry for over 4 years at Government funded and private facilities. Fritz chooses to work in this industry because he believes people who are struggling with addiction deserve a fair shake and a chance to be sober, clean, and live a productive and functional life.

Kurt Coutu
Residential and Clinical Behavioral Health Technician
Kurt Coutu graduated from Lynchburg College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. In 2010 he graduated from Sacred Heart University with a Master of Arts in Elementary Education. He worked for Project Genesis, a non- profit based in Connecticut that worked with behaviorally disabled and at-risk youth to provide community-based education, job training and life skills instruction. He also worked in the Connecticut Public School Systems, tutoring, teaching behavioral modification programs and working with children with developmental disabilities. Over the summers Kurt worked with the Connecticut State Department of Developmental Disabilities overseeing staff and children. After years of seeing the devastation caused by drug and alcohol abuse, Kurt developed a passion for helping those who suffer from Alcoholism and Drug Addiction. He moved to South Florida in 2015 and began working in the treatment industry. Kurt's passion and professional experience for learning and teaching has allowed him to successfully build rapport with clients and inspire personal growth and development.

Fatima Peck was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. She spent the first part of her career in the business and finance industry. After being a homemaker for quite a few years, Fatima developed a strong desire to work helping others. She began her career in Social Services in 2006, working with victims of domestic abuse. Throughout her career in this area, she obtained a state certification as a Domestic Violence Advocate and has worked her way up from an On-Call Residence Coordinator to her current full-time position as the Shelter Supervisor at a domestic abuse emergency shelter located in Lake Worth, Florida.
In 2012, Fatima began working part-time as a Behavioral Health Tech and has worked for several local substance abuse and mental health treatment centers in the South Florida region. Fatima maintains a wide range of professional and personal experience in direct care service, quality assurance, management & oversight of operations, strategic planning, and case management. She employs a collaborative approach to build therapeutic relationships and help clients transition successfully.

Jessica McGinnis-Yates

McGinnis-Yates has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Jessica is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the
State of Florida working towards becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Jessica has experience working in a multitude of therapeutic services including individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy. She has experience working
with severe substance abuse disorders, eating disorders, chronic mental illness, affective(mood) disorders, personality disorders, and trauma-related issues with people of all ages. Jessica’s theoretical orientation is eclectic and involves individualizing
treatment for each of her clients, depending on their needs. Psychotherapies she employs include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (CBT, REBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and
Motivational Interviewing (MI) These approaches are used to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions and behaviors that lead to maladaptive patterns and destructive lifestyles. Jessica’s passion is to help clients understand and change these
patterns and destructive lifestyles in order to learn how to live a happy, healthy, sober life.

Therapy and group sessions are time tested and effective methods of applying alcohol addiction treatment. There’s great comfort in sitting with others who are dealing with the same issue. Strong bonds form a unity of thought in battling the insidious nature of addiction. Group therapy is a cathartic experience. Those suffering from addiction admit to the mistreatment of loved ones and occasions where they felt out of control.
